Life Scout Rank Emblem

The Life Scout Rank is earned after completing the Life Scout requirements and after earning the first five Scouts BSA ranks: Star Scout, First Class, Second Class, Tenderfoot and Scout rank. It is the sixth of 7 possible ranks in Scouts BSA. The ranks for Star, Life and Eagle (the highest rank in Scouting) focus on active participation, community service, leadership and merit badges.  Scouts will have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10 years old OR are at least 11 years old OR have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old. Participants may continue to work on Scouting advancement until reaching their 18th birthday.
