First Class Rank Emblem
The First Class Scout Rank is earned after completing the First Class Scout requirements and after earning the first three Scouts BSA ranks: Second Class, Tenderfoot and Scout. It is the fourth of 7 possible ranks in Scouts BSA. The ranks for Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class cover skills in camping, hiking, cooking, first aid, nature, fitness, aquatics, citizenship and leadership. Scouts will have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10 years old OR are at least 11 years old OR have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old. Participants may continue to work on Scouting advancement until reaching their 18th birthday.
