He Will Give You Rest: An Invitation and a Promise
What does it really mean to come unto the Savior? What does his promise of rest mean to us today?
In this thought-provoking and thoughtful book, trusted scripture scholars Richard Neitzel Holzapfel and Gaye Strathearn offer revealing and comforting answers to these questions. Citing ancient and modern scripture and counsel from our latter-day prophets, they shed heartwarming light on Jesus' tender invitation to come unto him:
- The nature and meaning of his entreaty
- Knowing the Father by knowing the Son
- The costs and blessings of discipleship
- The burdens we bear in mortality and how Jesus can ease or even remove them
- A deeper understanding of his “easy yoke” and “light burden”
- How his invitation and promise can bring peace to us in mortality and a bright hope for eternal life
He Will Give You Rest offers us insight into developing a richer, deeper relationship with the Savior and becoming a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
