Prayers in the Night

As night descends on the forest, a wolf, milking cow, and little boy are struck with fear. With no light and no hope, each turns to Heavenly Father for help. Told in rhyme, this poignant picture book teaches that when the darkness comes, if only you’ll pray with all your might, the Lord will come near and send you His light.

Cason Smithson

Cason fostered a love for writing and drawing at a very early age. Between Mickey Mouse Golden Books, and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, he gained a sense for the rhythm of a story and the impact of illustrations. It wasn’t until he began attending high school that he truly developed a motivation to write and illustrate professionally. He went on to be published multiple times in his school magazines, with both his short stories and his artwork. His story Secrets of the Grand Canyon was selected as a winner in the local Centennial Voices 2012 magazine. Pursuing degrees in creative writing and graphic design, he began experimenting with digital and charcoal art in addition to his initial pen and pencil sketches. This led him to obtain a job working as a graphic designer for an online company that developed website banners, logos, and podcast covers for various online businesses. Cason is currently attending ASU, continuing his major in creative writing and graphic design.
