Lead Me Home (Music CD) op

There is nothing like home. Home is where love is and where relationships grow. The greatest gifts we take from this life are our relationships—namely, our relationship with God who leads us in a way so we can make it back to our heavenly home to live with Him. We develop our relationship with God through various means—including prayer, reading scriptures, and music. This album includes emotive, reminiscent, peaceful melodies to bring us nearer to God. Blending elements of folk, classical, bluegrass, and new-age music, Lead Me Home features relaxed, intricate acoustic guitar melodies of both traditional and original hymns accompanied by a string ensemble with guest artists Steven Sharp Nelson of The Piano Guys and Ryan Shupe of Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband.

Camille Nelson

Camille Nelson is a “Jane of all trades” wearing a relentlessly beautiful ear for acoustic-driven folk music with a pop/rock tinge. Classically trained in guitar and violin, Camille creates fresh and kinetic melodies combined with unique bodily guitar percussion. These compositions convey elaborate and heartfelt stories using the entirety of her instrument. Her songwriting style has been influenced by artists from U2 to Alanis Morissette, while her playing style reflects influences from fingerstyle artists Kaki King and Andy Mckee. Audiences are introduced to elements of classical string arrangements with atmospheric guitars and vocals for a modern edge.Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Camille is the youngest of six talented and musically inclined siblings. Her father was a violist, and her mother was a professional opera singer – both heavily influencing Camille’s pursuit and interest in performance.

In 2009, Camille collaborated with producer Giles Reaves to release her debut album, First Words, under the independent label known as Dimmi Records. Camille later earned a publishing contract for more expansive television and film placement. She’s currently working on a follow-up EP to be released in early 2017 featuring her new fingerstyle/percussive guitar work along with other classical influences on violin and piano.

In addition to family, Camille draws musical and creative inspiration from her travels abroad. She’s visited more than 60 countries and is fluent in German and Italian. Drawing from a deep respect for and admiration of diverse global cultures, she integrates a uniquely multicultural perspective into songwriting following years living in South Africa, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy prior to and while pursuing her Master’s degree at the University of Utah and later her Ph.D. at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Camille currently teaches graduate courses in management, communication, and leadership while pursuing her career in music with hopes of motivating and moving others through the power of song.
