Five Truths That Will Make You Free (Talk on CD)

Christ said, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). Using this theme, Hank Smith shares life-changing insights on ways we can be truly free from the chains of the adversary. In this inspiring talk, he teaches that true freedom comes from choosing to follow the commandments. With his trademark humor, Hank tells the story of a young man whose friends literally jumped off a cliff, so he gave in to peer pressure and jumped too. Fortunately, the young man didn't die, but as Hank reminds us, "You are free to choose your actions, but you are not free to choose the consequences." Hank shares stories and examples of the spiritual risks that come with spending too much time using mobile devices, playing video games, watching television, or using other media all of which can lead to intense loneliness and depression. He teaches that we can know for ourselves the love God has for us, the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and how the Savior can truly set us free.
